Violin lessons - frequently asked questions

Where are you based?

I am based in Reading, Berkshire (RG2) with easy access from M4 and public transport. I offer violin lessons in my home or at your place within certain distance.

What is the cost for Private Violin Lessons

30 minutes: £25/hour
60 minutes: £35/hour

When is the payment due date for the lessons?

Payment is due after the lesson.

Can I pay for one lesson at a time?

Yes. You can pay in advance or make the payment after each lesson.

What do I need to bring with me for my private lessons?

You must have an instrument to play on prior to beginning violin lessons. You can either rent it or purchase it.

Do you offer trial lessons?

Currently I do not offer trial lessons. If you wish to "try out" violin lessons, I would advise you to take at least one month of lessons to get a true feel for how your violin teacher will be able to work with you. Younger children may need up to 3 months to adjust.

What is the age to begin violin lessons?

Students may begin lessons on the Violin at a very early age. I recommend the student be approximately 5 years or older.

How do I get a violin?

For younger students who require a small size violin, renting may be the best option available. Many new student models are also available from many music stores. When it comes to purchasing a high quality violin, the experience gained from speaking to a professional Violin teacher would be invaluable.
